Which CPR course should I take?
We offer a wide range of courses for both medical and non-medical occupations. We also offer courses for those just wanting to learn CPR and First Aid. Check out our CPR guide.
How long will it take to receive my CPR certification?
After you complete a course with Windy City CPR, you will receive the certification same-day!
How long does my CPR certification last?
All CPR certifications are valid for 2 years and are through the American Heart Association.
Is it possible to cancel a class?
Classes are transferable but not refundable, we can reschedule you for another class. A student may reschedule ONE TIME at no charge with at least a 24 HOUR NOTICE during business hours.
Do I need to purchase a book or any other first aid supplies?
No need! We provide you with all booklets as they are included in the price of the course.
We provide all of the tools needed to learn first aid skills in our course; there is no need to bring supplies unless you wish to.
We also provide Narcan for each student to take home!
Do I need to give breaths in the manikin?
No, since COVID began we are no longer giving breaths into the manikins.
Can CPR training be done virtually?
Virtual CPR training is not available at Windy City CPR, and is usually not accepted by most employers. The best, most effective training is the hands-on in person courses we provide.
Do you offer CPR for medical professionals?
Yes we do! All medical professionals will need to sign up for the BLS for Healthcare Providers course.
Do you offer CPR for non-medical professionals?

Do I get continuing education credit for taking the class?
Only if you are an EMT.
Do you provide group CPR Training?
We provide CPR training for small and large groups and can visit your workplace or host you at our Schaumburg location.
Our Schaumburg, IL location holds up to 12 students. Any class more than 12 students will need to be held at your facility or a facility rented out by the client.

Do you provide discounted group rates for CPR classes?
We do provide group rates, the more students the lower the cost! Group rates start at 5 people or more. Group rates are final upon payment, so make sure to have an accurate head count for us before submitting payment. Inquire about group classes.
Is Windy City CPR authorized to provide CPR services?
Yes we are! Our instructors are certified through the American Heart Association (AHA), and only teach classes through AHA. This is the certification most employers prefer.
I didn’t receive my certification. How can I obtain it?
Many times the issue is due to a typo or the card is sent to your spam folder. Reach out here to replace your certification.
How much do CPR classes cost?
The cost of the class can range from $65-$115 dependent on which type of certification you need. The course can be paid for by card online or in cash. In some cases, your employer may offer to pay if it’s required for your job and we can send them an invoice.
Is BLS the same as CPR?
BLS courses teach CPR. However, the BLS course is designated for healthcare professionals only.
How long does it take to learn CPR?
The length of a CPR class depends on the course. We offer same-day classes and certification is provided before you leave. Courses take approximately 1-5 hours depending on the skills you need.
Is the CPR exam difficult?
We provide a 100% passing rate for all CPR classes. Our instructors will guide you every step of the way!
Is the CPR test multiple choice?
Yes it is!
What happens if I fail the exam?
We provide a 100% passing rate for the exam. However, the skills will need to be presented to the instructor correctly. If you are unable to pass the skills portion, we invite you back to retake the course. We allow a lot of time for you to master your skills so it is very rare we have students fail the course!
Is the CPR certification nationally and internationally accepted?
Yes, our American Heart Association certification is accepted nationally and worldwide!
Do you offer CPR for babies and children?
Yes we do! If you would specifically like to learn about children and infant CPR we suggest taking our Pediatrics course.
Do you offer CPR for pets?
Absolutely! We offer not only CPR courses for dogs and cats, but also first aid courses for exotic pets! Our PetSaver courses offer a wide array of CPR and first aid skills essential for those who work with animals or for pet owners.
How can I pay for the CPR services?
Start by selecting the course you’d like to sign up for. You can pay during the class booking process. If you’d like to inquire about group rates, please get in touch.
Do you offer CPR classes in Chicago?
We offer CPR classes to Chicagoland residents and the Chicagoland suburbs as well!. The nearest training facility is located in Schaumburg, IL. We can also travel to your business or community center in Chicago!
Do I need BLS classes before ACLS classes?
Yes, the American Heart Association requires that you take a BLS course before an ACLS course. We provide BLS courses but we do not provide ACLS.
Can I bring my own CPR equipment?
If you have your own CPR equipment, you are welcome to bring them to class. However, the equipment must follow American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and is up to the discretion of the instructor. If the equipment does not follow AHA guidelines, the student will have to use our equipment.
What should I wear to a CPR class?
Make sure to dress comfortably as it is a hands-on class.
Do you offer instructor CPR courses?
We do not offer instructor classes at this time.
What is the difference between CPR and AED?
CPR courses teach you how to complete compressions and breaths, the actions needed to complete Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. AED courses teach you how to use an AED device which is used to resuscitate an individual. In an emergency when there is no AED available, CPR is the skillset you need to save a life.
What is the difference between CPR and First Aid?
CPR courses teach you how to complete compressions and breaths, the actions needed to complete Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. First Aid courses teach you what to do in case of choking, seizures, poisoning, bites, strings, epi pen training, how to bandage a wound, and bleeding to name a few.
