Have you ever wanted to know what to do in an emergency situation involving your dog or cat? Have you ever wondered if there are preventative measures to take or things you can do to better prepare your pet for the vet? These courses answer all of these questions and more!
Hiking and Walking With Your Dog (45min)
You will learn the following: How to Plan & Prepare for a Walk or Hike, What Essential Gear to Carry, How to Assess Dehydration in Dogs, The Top 6 Pet First Aid Situations on the Trail, and How to Conduct a Snout-to-Tail™ Injury & Wellness Assessment.
This is an introductory course to the other in-depth courses we have to offer. There is no certification for this course. This course is VIRTUAL unless otherwise posted.
CPR & First Aid for Your Pets (4hrs)
You will learn the following: Importance of Pet First Aid, Pet CPR (3 Styles), Rescue Breathing, Choking Management, Bleeding Management, How to Help Your Pet in a Medical Emergency, Snout-to-Tail™ Wellness Assessment, Snout-to-Tail™ Injury Assessment, Assessing Your Pet’s Vitals, 10 Situations That Require Immediate Veterinary Care, How to Put Together Your Own Pet First Aid Kit, Restraining Your Pet, Heat and Cold Injuries, Poisoning, Insect Bites and Stings, and Snake Bite.
Participants will receive an official PetTech™ certification card upon completion of the course, valid for two years!
PetSaver Training Course (5hrs)
You will learn the following: Importance of Pet First Aid, Pet CPR (3 Styles), Rescue Breathing, Choking Management, Bleeding Management, How to Help Your Pet in a Medical Emergency, Snout-to-Tail™ Wellness Assessment, Snout-to-Tail™ Injury Assessment, Assessing Your Pet’s Vitals, 10 Situations That Require Immediate Veterinary Care, How to Put Together Your Own Pet First Aid Kit, Restraining Your Pet, Heat and Cold Injuries, Poisoning, Insect Bites and Stings, Snake Bite, Dental Care for Your Pets (PetSaver Exclusive), and Senior Petizen Care (PetSaver Exclusive).
Participants will receive an official PetTech™ certification card and PetSaver™ booklet upon completion of the course, valid for two years!
Exotic Pet First Aid (1hr)
This course is for individuals who own or work with exotic animals such as reptiles, fish, birds, and small mammals and would like to learn more about their preventative, emergency, and overall care. This class is virtual and will also include a Q&A session at the end to answer any specific questions you may have about these unique animals.
This virtual course is purely informative and does not provide certification.
About the Instructor
Selena is a well-rounded exotic animal handler and animal enthusiast! She started off her career working for animal shelters, learning how to care for domesticated animals. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2018 to learn as much as she could about different types of animals as her curiosity grew. She has cared for everything from elephants to giraffes, marine mammals, exotic birds, reptiles, fish, and small mammals! She is now a PetTech™ certified instructor who dedicates her time to teaching pet parents and pet care facilities about Pet CPR, First Aid, and Care! She has an Australian Shepard named Malakai as well as exotic pets such as different species of chameleons, tortoise, iguana, snakes, skink, and a bearded dragon!
Who Should Take These Courses?
- Dog or cat parents.
- Animal care professionals such as those that work in a shelter, animal hospital, groomers, pet-sitters and animal daycare professionals.
Rescheduling Policy
- Courses are transferrable but NON REFUNDABLE!
- A student may reschedule ONE TIME at no charge with at least a 24 HOUR NOTICE.
- To reschedule: Please contact us at (708) 404-1411 during normal business hours (9am-5pm) Monday thru Friday. If you are unable to reach a representative during these hours, please leave a voicemail or email: karen@windycitycpr.com.
- Please include your full name and course date! We will not honor any rescheduling request if we do not have proof that you have attempted to contact us. Courses are NON REFUNDABLE.
- A student who reschedules more than once will be charged a $25 fee paid before the class will be rescheduled.
- A Student is not allowed to reschedule on the day of the course.
No-Show Policy
- A student who does not show up to class and did not notify us before the start of the class is considered a NO SHOW. We do not refund or honor credit for NO SHOW students.
Late Arrival Policy
- We ask that students please arrive to class on time! We recommend that students arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time. If a student is more then 15 minutes late to class, the student must reschedule.
